Whitewater boating in New York is a sight to behold. A place that defines pool-drop kayaking - with huge pools but also with huge rapids - it offers up some of the better bedrock kayaking in the east. From the ultra classic Moose River deep in the heart of the Adirondacks to the steep mountain streams in Lake Placid you'll find a wide variety of whitewater, a well establised scheduled release season in the fall and even some pretty good playboating when the water gets really high in the spring.
